i'm leaving the 30th of this month to work in nepal and india with bhutanese refugees. this will hopefully be the first of many updates to come. right now, i am in nyc packing for the 5 week trip.

the history of the situation is long and extensive due to the absurd laws created in the past 50 years in an attempt to justify the forced removal of these people from their own country. i will hopefully write a brief history about it soon. in the meantime, it is not hard to find information about the situation online if you are interested.

i'll be posting updates on various things such as the dire effects of drinking untreated water and playing with rabid animals, and also little things, like how not to run around blindfolded in the refugee camps or talk to yaks. (and, of course, updates on the situation here and the process of repatriation)
