the royal tenenbaums

dir. wes anderson
written by wes anderson and owen wilson

very good movie
i'm planning to see it a second time
and i'm planning on buying the dvd when it comes out

the website is amazing

great directing (wes anderson who also did rushmore and bottle rocket)
and cinematography
and soundtrack

so gene hackman plays royal tenenbaum, the head of the tenenbaum family.
his children are played by ben stiller, gwynth paltrow, and luke wilson
wife played by angelica huston
(the pic is missing pagoda, sorry about that)

etc etc

go see it

and i also saw orange county tonite
eh...it was ok
jack black deserved a lot more
and there were cameos by kevin kline (a stanford professor) and chevy chase (high school principal)

i can't stand movies (or any other media) about upper middle class teens driving around in SUVs, impersonating/idolizing carson daly and britney spears; especially when they complain about school

but that's just me

above the law

excerpts from As Questions Get Louder, Cheney Stays Silent
by Edwin Chen

WASHINGTON -- The growing Enron debacle is turning up the political heat on Vice President Dick Cheney, who has refused to detail his contacts with company officials while developing a national energy policy last year.

Mary Matalin, a senior Cheney advisor, rejected that scenario. She said in an interview that Cheney will not abandon his conviction that he is acting to protect executive privilege.

"There is a principle here that we want to preserve--for not just this administration but future administrations," Matalin said. "The powers and prerogatives of the executive branch have been eroded, and we're going to stop that."

ENRON
I'm assuming you've all heard about the fall of this massive energy coroporation.

Cheney above the law? What makes him so special?

Ok, so let's screw the truth up the ass and not have the courtesy to give it a reach around, eh?

Thousands of people robbed of their life savings...who cares?

Bailing out major airline companies but still laying off thousands of people in the process. Ok.

Can anyone please try to defend Cheney and major corporations validly WITHOUT nonsensical arguments? (Like how giving the richest 1% Americans a, say, 1.25 billion tax cut to "promote domestic spending.")
